SMALL ANTIQUE BURMESE BOX, WOVEN STRAW, RED LACQUERED FINISH

Description

From Burma (now Myanmar), a small, charming antique box...hand-crafted of woven straw, then strengthened with red lacquer (outside) and black inside. In excellent condition for at least 100 years old...purchased in Rangoon in 1976.
Measures @ 3" square, bottom, Top 3.75" - fits nicely over bottom. Also, top has small crossed "feet" to sit nicely for another open box...trinkets? Not sure of original use, but very attractive, unusual decorative piece for your collection or decor.
