    Series 7 retaining rings have a 54mm thread. That's all this is - a 54mm to 55mm step up ring. It doesn't have Series 7 printed on it. But it's what you need if you have a lens with a Series 7 filter thread (or a Series 7 filter holder) and want to use standard sized filters on it. I've tested these with Kodak, Tiffen, and Ednalite adapter rings (filter holders). It fits them all.
    It does not fit the first version of the Leica Summicron-R 35mm f/2 - Series 7 filters went in the lens hood and the lens itself has a 48mm filter thread.
    It does appear to fit other Leica lenses with Series 7 threads (the ones that a 14161 retaining ring screws into).
    These do say "Rise(UK)" on them now (didn't when I originally took the photos of the first batch I got.
