    Description

    This is a large Kutani Maneki Neko (Lucky Beckoning Cat) that measures 10.25" high by 5.25" wide by 6" deep.  It was entirely hand made and hand painted using a raised Moriage technique.  With lots of fine details including its gold eyes, gold collar with gold bells, light green colored bow and its distinctive paw pads on its raised left paw, it is truly a good luck statue for any cat lover.
    The condition is very good with no chips, cracks or repairs.  Age is from the 1950's to 1960's and it is very heavy weighing 4 pounds 5 ounces suggesting that it was heavily potted prior to firing.  Small kiln vent hole at the base and marked Kutani.
