    Description

Add a touch of vintage elegance to your home decor with this lot of 20 antique Burma Kalaga embroidered metallic woven tapestry squares. Made of woven cotton, each square is intricately embroidered with metallic threads in multi-color shades. These tapestries were originally created in Burma probably dating between 1900-1940, making them a unique and valuable addition to any collection.
Each square measures approximately 8 inches by 8 inches, and can be framed or mounted as wall hangings to add a pop of color and texture to any room. Whether you're a collector of antique textiles or simply looking for a statement piece for your home, these Kalaga tapestries are sure to impress.
17 of these are elephants two are horses and one is two jesters, people. They are all on various colours of background and all have the glass balls around the initial centre in which some have fallen off a few of these. They are also adorned with a lot of gold metal sequins as well. A lot of metallic thread, and each has been intricately hand embroidered, which is just amazing With all the detail in these. I am thinking that it must’ve been an original large textile, and these were all cut from one large textile? Some of these have a lighter, gauzy cotton backing. And you can tell that they are definitely quite old. Several of them do not have backings. overall these are in quite good condition and there is just the one that looks like a moth may have gotten to it as you can see in one of the photos.
