Antique Burmese Lacquer Rectangular Box with Incised Decoration of Elephants and Figures

The box crafted of wood and covered in several layers of black, orange, green and yellow lacquer. The design of elephants and mahouts on a leafy foliate background is rendered by carving the lacquer down to each layer of color, a traditional technique familiar to the region of Pagan. The underside of the base has a different design of flowering tendrils within a banded frame.
Minor signs of wear and age, otherwise fine condition.
