ANTIQUE Carved wood Buddha rounded sculpture BURMA Myanmar very FINE

Description

This is a carved wood pieces from Burma as pictured.    I don't know much about the item but know it came from Myanmar (Burma) 20-some years ago.      I assume it is old but don't have any information about date, place of origin or anything further beyond the fact it was purchased from an individual in rural Burma in the late 1990s or thereabouts.
The SIZE of the piece is approximately 4" wide by 9" inches high and it is a semi-rounded piece that sticks out about 2 inches in the center.    It is painted and generally in very good condition --- used, but not greatly chipped, broken or otherwise damaged more than one would expect from an older wood piece.       I don't know much about the particular use or background but believe it may have been an insert in a temple or something like that.    In any event, it's attractive, interesting and not commonly available.
