    Description

    Antique Burmese A-le 20 tical, a zoomorphic form market weight often referred to as an “opium weight”, in the form  of a To-myin, a mythical creature crossing a horse and a lion, having a curly mane and chin beard, open mouth, a peaked forelock, pair of horns followed by a pair of ears then the curled up mane, full chest, and curled tail, with extra incised decoration outlining the brow, chest, haunches and ankles standing on all four hoof like feet on a  tapered square base decorated by 3 incised bands on three sides and two incised bands on the fourth side. Worn surface, original patina, fine condition. SKU# UH80093
