Condition Is Good, See Images Carefully, Images Are It'S Own Description. Antique Burmese Betel Box (Kun-It, Yun - Shwe Zawa) Gold And Black Leaf Design. Size Is 3 X 3 Inches,And 4 Inches Tall From Surface. Circa 1920. Made In Burmah. Some Tear & Wear Due To It'S Age. Some Paint Damaged At Lid'S Top,Which You Can See In The Images. This Mid 20Th Century Box Is Lacquered Black Inside And Out And Features The Shwe Zawa Gold Leaf Technique Of Decoration. Traditional Yun Design. This Style Is From Pagan In Burma And Features A Patterned Decoration. In Very Good Condition Overall, With Very Minor Surface Cracking In Places - A Lovely Example. Such Small Betel Boxes Did Not Have Interior Trays And Were Not Designed For Actual Betel Use. They Were Used For Holding Cosmetics And Trinkets, And Were Often Used As Children'S Toys For Those Who Could Afford Them - Meaning Few Survived.
