Vintage Rare Burmese? Black Lacquer Octagon Folding Side Table. Gorgeous Design. This table has a solid octagon top and a separate base that has 8 panels that are joined together by hinges to form a base. The last two panels are not joined on one side to allow the base to fold up for easy storage and transport. All pieces have an intricate multi color design that really pops against the black background. There is writing in a band at the top of the design that looks Burmese to me, but not positive. As found, in good condition, I don’t have the exact date or region of creation of this. This table is a versatile piece that looks beautiful on display. As a side table or plant stand. There are some small areas of finish loss, nicks to the finish and edge depressions on the base legs and top consistent with age and use. Top measures 15” across, each leg panel measures approximately 3.5” wide and 13.5” tall. When assembled the table measures 14.5” tall. There is a white tag on the top and base. There are light reflections in the pictures that are not flaws. I redacted the pictures to cover the chest in the design. Table does not have this. Beautiful piece to display.
