    Description

Burmese Karen frog drum. Created using lost wax casting in the 19th century. Believed by locals to have the power to bring end to drought.
Four raised frog figures are spaced around the outer diameter of the drum. The drum face is decorated with concentric rings containing different design motifs, including some with alternating fish and flower etchings.
Dark bronze patina with areas of verdigris. Good condition, no discernible chips or repairs.
Dimensions: 10" high (not including raised frogs), 13" diameter, weight approx. 7lbs
